Sand trap

A sand trap is used for draining and fine sand recovery from solid-water slurries from the underflow of a washing screen or dissolution station. The components that can be desludged are deflected through the water drain. The auger flights convey the solids deposited in the sand trap (sands/very fine sands) to the scoop wheel, where they are discharged by means of scoops. Vacuum chambers increase the drainage capacity.
