Vertical lifts are used in Boningen to transport goods from one building to another. A steel bridge connects the two existing buildings. Eight pallets can be stored on so-called storage sections. The statics of the building have been optimised in this area.

Project
Frei Fördertechnik AG was the general contractor for this project, supplying the entire conveyor system, including controls, steel bridge and structural optimisation of the existing building.
The robot palletises the bags onto the pallets and wraps them in film using a strapping machine. They are transported via the roller conveyor to the corner transfer unit, where a chain conveyor turns them sideways and feeds them into the first vertical lift. The lift transports the pallets five metres upwards and transfers them to the roller conveyor via the newly constructed steel bridge between the two existing buildings. At the end of the bridge, the turntable turns the pallets and sends them to the next building. Eight pallets can be stored on so-called accumulation sections on the four double roller conveyors. However, due to the total load, the statics of the building had to be checked.
A new steel structure now supports the platform. The pallets are turned 90 degrees by a turntable so that they can be transported downwards by the vertical lift. The forklift truck continuously collects the pallets when they are removed. The entire system has been secured with the necessary safety functions, muting system and protective grilles.
