Frei Fördertechnik AG has installed a 20.8-metre-long Thermo-Drive hygienic belt conveyor for the food industry at Bigler AG in Lyss. This bespoke conveyor solution combines the highest hygiene standards with ergonomic workstations and ensures reliable operation in day-to-day use.

The conveyor consists of a hygienically designed stainless steel structure with a form-fitting Monolith PU belt. This meets the requirements for direct food contact in accordance with CE and FDA standards. Thanks to the form-fitting drive system, there is no need for regular belt tensioning, thereby reducing maintenance requirements and downtime.

For additional product safety, a UV-C belt sterilisation system (type FBK 4 600 ST1), including light shielding, has been integrated. The open, square-section chassis minimises dirt build-up and allows for easy cleaning and quick maintenance. This ensures that the highest standards of quality, hygiene and process safety are maintained at all times.
