Rutishauser AG produces potted plants and flowers in its own state-of-the-art greenhouses and supplies most of Switzerland's major distributors. With the newly constructed conveyor system in the preparation area, production is being automated in a further stage. The prepared plants are efficiently picked and placed in trays.

Project
Frei Fördertechnik AG took on this project, handling everything from planning the conveyor system to installation and commissioning on site. The control system was implemented by a partner company in cooperation with Frei. The built-in conveyor system transports the flower trays from the preparation area, where they are taken from the mobile growing tables and sorted, to the packaging area. Built-in sensors ensure that the flower trays are evenly distributed when they are fed onto the collection belt. Safe transitions between the conveyor belts ensure that the plants are not damaged. The entire project was implemented in a record time of 8 weeks from order to completion, while operations continued as normal.
