Auhafen Muttenz / Fenaco Genossenschaft

All projects

Fenaco planned a new transhipment platform and grain collection point for grain and derivatives in the Auhafen in Muttenz. A new ship unloading and silo facility with integrated rail unloading, rail loading, truck unloading and truck loading with a loading capacity of 250 tonnes/hour for both trucks and rail is to be built. Existing sand silos were converted and a new silo over 70 metres high was erected for the facility. It has a storage capacity of around 40,000 tonnes.

Project

Fenaco has built a new transshipment silo facility for grain and grain products at the Auhafen in Basel. Frei Fördertechnik AG was responsible for the planning and delivery of the plant and machinery.

Essentially, the facility consists of the semi-automatic crane system, the ship unloading bunker, the rail receiving bunker, machine house 1 with integrated rail loading, the new hexagonal silos with the integrated machine house 2 and the service building, the two existing silos from the former Sibelco, the truck receiving building, the truck loading building, the grain drying plant with four wet grain silos, and the new transformer building.

In addition to the construction work, machinery components such as unloading cranes, trough chain conveyors, belt elevators, drum screens, grain cleaners, continuous weighers, truck/rail scales, continuous magnets, gates, rotary valves, screw conveyors, loading systems, and dust extraction systems were installed. The associated electrical consumers and sensors were connected via a new electrical control system and installation with the necessary visualization.
