Auhafen Muttenz / Fenaco Genossenschaft

All projects

Fenaco planned a new transhipment platform and grain collection point for grain and derivatives in the Auhafen in Muttenz. A new ship unloading and silo facility with integrated rail unloading, rail loading, truck unloading and truck loading with a loading capacity of 250 tonnes/hour for both trucks and rail is to be built. Existing sand silos were converted and a new silo over 70 metres high was erected for the facility. It has a storage capacity of around 40,000 tonnes.

Project

Frei Fördertechnik AG implemented the entire facility from planning to commissioning. The plant essentially consisted of a semi-automatic crane system, ship unloading bunker, rail reception bunker, machine house 1 with integrated rail loading, new hexagonal silos with integrated machine house 2 and service building, two existing silos from the former Sibelco, the truck reception building, truck loading building with integrated machine house 3, grain drying plant and the existing transformer building.
In addition to the construction work, machine parts such as unloading cranes, trough chain conveyors, belt elevators, drum screens, grain cleaners, continuous weighing systems, truck/railway scales, continuous magnets, slides, rotary valves, screw conveyors, loading equipment and dust extraction systems were installed. The associated electrical consumers and sensors were connected to a new electrical control system and installation with the necessary visualisation.
