Sludge and water treatment
A sludge and water treatment plant essentially consists of a clarification tower, sludge and water silos, a flocculant system, a filter press and pumps, a silo for process water, and a wastewater tank.
The slurry water produced at the gravel and recycling plant is fed into the clarification tower. There, a biodegradable flocculant is added to the wastewater to accelerate the agglomeration and settling of the solids. Dosing is carried out automatically and according to demand.
In the clarification tower, the solids settle at the bottom, whilst the treated water is drawn off from the upper section and returned to the production process. The thickened sludge is fed into a homogenisation tank and subsequently dewatered in a filter press. This produces solid sludge cakes that can be easily disposed of or recycled.
Advantages:
- Savings in fresh water
- Process water remains in the cycle
- Clean separation of solids and liquids
- High separation efficiency
- Recycling of sludge into building materials or professional disposal
- Long service life and simple maintenance
