Roller crushers are particularly effective for processing hard and abrasive materials. A roller crusher is used to crush solid materials such as rock, coal or ore into smaller particles.
It consists of two horizontally arranged rollers that rotate slowly in opposite directions. The material to be crushed is fed into the centre. One roller is fixed and the other, movable roller is used to adjust the degree of crushing by changing the roller gap.
The fine fraction present in the feed material passes through the gap between the two rollers without further crushing. The specific power requirement, wear and tear and the fine fraction produced in the end product are therefore significantly lower than with other crushers.
