Tour of the Messerli AG gravel plant
Around 95 % of the gravel and sand produced is used in the construction industry. This is because a lot of building is done and still preferably with the tried and tested building material concrete, more than two thirds of which consists of sand and gravel. In addition, gravel and sand are also in demand as aggregates for other building materials such as mortar, plaster or asphalt, and as bulk material for road construction.
As general contractor, Frei Fördertechnik AG was responsible for the entire process engineering of the material processing, including clarification of the technology, dust extraction system and control. The plant impresses with its separate feeding of wall gravel and moraine material and its flawless processing.
After extraction, the gravel extraction site is filled with clean excavated material and prepared for use by agriculture and forestry, according to the motto: extract - fill - recultivate.
