SELFRAG slag

Switzerland-based SELFRAG is the first company in the world to use high-voltage pulse technology on an industrial level. Based on its expertise in material behaviour under high-voltage pulses, SELFRAG developed a pioneering method for the recycling of slag. High-power pulse generators are used to produce recurring high-voltage electrical discharges similar to lightning. These discharges are followed by powerful shock waves, which lead to the effective separation and purification of the slag components. The selective fragmentation makes for a fundamental change in terms of the volume and quality of the extracted material.
