Mertec Engineering AG - Curved conveyor

In the Emirate of Ras al Khaimah (UAE), several large cement plants are fed with the locally mined limestone. In order to develop a new mining area, a curved conveyor is being configured, manufactured and installed.

Project
In collaboration with Mertec Engineering AG, Frei Fördertechnik AG persuaded the owner Star Cement to build a curved conveyor instead of several successive belts. Until this point, the technique was not well known locally. In addition to the project planning and calculations, key components such as drive unit, tensioning station and belt supports were prepared in Rubigen. Furthermore, rollers, belts and drives were supplied by our long-standing partners. The remaining steel parts were manufactured on site under the supervision of Mertec Engineering AG and Frei Fördertechnik AG.
