Eltecna AG

In cooperation with Eltecna AG in Zurich, Frei Fördertechnik AG was contracted by Eberhard Bau AG to build a new concrete plant with the associated conveyor system. Eletcna AG is responsible for the concrete plant, including the pre-washing plant; Frei Fördertechnik for the construction of the conveyor system.

Project
The new concrete plant, which was built on the site of the Ebirec plant in Rümlang, is equipped with a concrete mixer with a volume of 5 m³ . The aggregates of sand and gravel are removed from the existing raw material silo using existing batch feeder and weighing belts. To achieve this, the 14 weighing belts had to be converted to reversing operation. The modified weighing belts now feed the new conveyor system. In addition, material can be fed to the conveyor line from two external silos with belt feeders. The terminal belt to the new concrete plant is pivotable, so that both weighing containers can be fed. This increases the production output of the concrete plant accordingly. Since the raw material silo contains material for both the old and the new concrete plants and must be fed accordingly, Frei Fördertechnik AG also created a second silo with associated conveyor system.

Special features
Complication of installation due to altitude limits imposed by Zurich Airport: execution of the crane work partly at night.
